The Arena Breaks. You Fight Back.
A neon Pong duel where rallies build Heat until the arena corrupts. Dash, survive glitch pressure, and at 100% Heat—fight a surveillance-eye boss that launches six punishment shots.
System Overview
Glitch Pong is a fast 2D arcade battle built on the rules of Pong—then corrupted until the arena itself becomes an opponent. Every rally raises Heat, awakens hazards, changes the ball’s behavior, and pushes both players toward a final confrontation with the system watching them.
Play solo against adaptive AI, share the screen in local multiplayer, or enter online matches. The game fights you. You fight back.
Score by getting the ball past the opposing paddle, but survive glitch walls, power-ups, Heat escalation, gravity, and arena-specific corruption.
The sentient ball remembers misses, favors the losing side, jukes players, grows exhausted during long rallies, and becomes the Eye boss at maximum Heat.
Earn XP through real player matches, reach Level 50, install combat perks, customize paddle colors, and build a permanent record across every arena.
Core Mechanics
Every rally charges the Heat meter. At 100%, the Boss Eye awakens with a full cinematic — the ball freezes, shows a warning, glitches to center, then morphs into the Eye.
A surveillance construct that morphs from the ball itself. It tracks your movement, launches six orbital projectiles, and escalates through alarm → active → resolution phases.
Shift + direction to Dash. Juke sends a fake ball trajectory. Teleport repositions instantly. All three have cooldowns. The AI uses them too — and gets sharper as your level rises.
Shield covers your entire wall — not just the paddle. Split launches three identical balls with a randomised real ball. Power Strike sends it back brutally fast. Time them well.
Reach match point and everything accelerates. Ball speed jumps, music breaks, the screen fractures. An equipped Clutch Protocol perk gives you a speed burst exactly when you need it.
Fight an AI on Easy, Medium, or Hard, go head-to-head locally, or switch on AI vs AI to watch both paddles battle at the same difficulty. Controls are fully remappable in Settings.
Every hit, score, boss survival, dash, and clutch point earns XP. Level up through 50 tiers. Every third level offers a perk choice from 15 combat modules. Progress persists per browser.
As Heat rises, corrupted data walls flicker into existence — jagged, pixel-distorted, alive. They redirect the ball, shatter on impact, and multiply as the arena infection spreads. Low Heat: 1 wall. Max Heat: 5.
The ball has a mind of its own. It builds spite toward the winning player and subtly steers for their weak spots. After 30 rally hits it grows drowsy — Z's float up from it, it wobbles with exhaustion, and a warning fires. It remembers every miss.
Classic Grid, Matrix Mainframe, The Construct, and Black-Hole Nexus each have their own identity. The Nexus adds cosmic lensing, heat-driven gravitational anomalies, and micro black holes that twist rallies without hiding the core Pong action.
Boss Encounter
When the Heat meter fills, the ball stops mid-flight. An angry warning flashes above it. Then it glitches violently to center, morphs into the Eye itself, and the red alarm erupts. It tracks every pixel of your movement, launches six orbital projectiles, and enters phase escalation — alarm, active, resolution. It does not forgive mistakes.
